European EPC (DPE) 2027: the changes you need to know about now
From 1 January 2027, the French Energy Performance Certificate (DPE) will contain additional information to bring it into line with European regulations. Please note that this reform will not change the calculation method or the thresholds for energy ratings A to G.The new DPE will include information on:- the property’s renewable energy production and installed equipment;- the remaining service life of the heating and air-conditioning systems;- the property’s ability to adjust its energy consumption to the needs of the electricity grid;- the ability of the installations to operate at low temperatures, particularly in connection with the installation of a heat pump.A new ‘A0’ designation may also be awarded to properties rated A or B that do not use any fossil fuels for heating or hot water. This is not a new energy rating: the scale will continue to run from A to G.DPEs issued before 1 January 2027 will remain valid for their standard ten-year validity period, but will not include the new information or the ‘A0’ designation.
